Mrs. Jakob August, 80 Years Old, Dies After Illness of Month.
Mrs. Jakob August, 80 years old, one of the best known and most active women in Rochester's Jewish community, died yesterday morning at her home, Nor. 121 Woodward street.
Mrs. August was born in Germany and came to Rochester immediately upon her arrival in this country. About fift-three years ago ashe married Jacob August, who survives her. She had not been in good health for the past two years but had been confined to her bed for only a month. She was a member of Temple Berith Kodesh and was active in several Rochester Jewish societies.
Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Simon, David and Leo August, of August Brothers Company, and three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Soloman and Mrs. Abe Allen, of this city, and Mrs. Morris Livingston, of Bloomington, Ill.
The funeral will take place to-morrow from the home, Dr. Max Landsberg, rabbi emeritus of Temple Berith Kodesh, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
