Vita

(W) The first Jewish families settled down in Zlocieniec only between 1800 and 1812. It is known that in 1804 there were two Jewish families in Zlocieniec, and in 1808 the married couple Elias Ephraim, from Siemczynz (Heinrichsdorf) came to live temporarily in Zlocieniec. A census conducted of the Jewish population in the New Marchy province, which in 1812 received Prussian citizenship, suggests there were five Jewish families in Zlocieniec in that year. Data containing the names used by those families was published in 2006[. The descendants of one of those families- the Hillers – lived in Zlocieniec even after 1930. (...) Henri Hiller, who owned a wheat store, lived in Marktstraße, near the Müller Hotel.
