(obit) Robert Karlebach Obituary
Karlebach, Robert Robert "Bob" Karlebach was born in Manheim Germany on January 19, 1927. In 1939, at age 11, he immigrated to the United States to escape the impending war. After growing up in New York City he entered the US Army. Returning after two years of service he went to synagogue to offer thanks for his safe return and met his future wife, Eve Gottlob. They were married in 1954 and immediately moved to Dallas Texas, the hub of his sales territory. There Bob and Eve had three children, Jerilyn, David and Dan, and kept busy with their many friends and active social life. Bob's passions were his family, performing magic, and Shearith Israel Synagogue. He always had a good joke ready and making others laugh was one of his greatest joys. He incorporated his humor and magic into his sales career and was a favorite of all his customers as well as his friends. Remembering him in that manner will always make us all smile. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eve, his three children: Jerilyn Anderson (Paul), Dave Karlebach, and Dan Karlebach (Sondra), and six grandchildren. The funeral was held at Shearith Israel cemetery on Tuesday September 4.
