Joey, age 90, of Cliffside Park, passed away on Saturday, May 2011.
Beloved husbaand of 63 years to Edith, caring brother of Peggy Lange, devoted father of Sharon Kaufmann and loving grandfather of Ari and Rena Kaufmann. Joey was a true and loyal friend to many world wide. He was a veeran of World War II. Joey was active in the Burrough of Cliffside Park as an animal control officer for the Board of Health and Police Department and an Honorary Deputy Sheriff of Bergen County.
In 2000, he rerceived an award and recommendation from the Mayor and Council of Cliffside Park in recognition of his years of public service. He was a national sales manager in the imported wine industry for over forty years and was certified by French, Spanish, Chilean, and German authorities as an exspert in his field.
He was a world traveler, an ardent scuba diver, an exceptional üublic speaker, and a lover of Dixieland jazz. His dedication to Jewish life led him to the presidencies of the Leo Baeck Lodge of B'nai B'rith, the Winston Towers Jewish High Holiday Committee, and the Special Relief Committee for Jews in the Soviet Union. Our "Pal Joey" made an impact on all who came to know him. We will love and remember him forever.
Shivah is being observed at the Ullmann residence Monday to Thursday from 1-3 PM and 7-9 PM with minyat at 7.30 PM.
