(MK) We lived in a city near Düsseldorf with a population of about 120.000 people, where everyone knew everyone else. My husband has a furniture store.

I had to learn to cook and I went to live with a Jewish family in Westphalia as a so-called house-daughter, and I liked it very much. They had a business and I helped them. I stayed there three an and a half years, from 1933 to 1936. I was twenty-three in 1933.

She went to Holland and worked for the family until her fiancé joined her there, reluctantly, and in 1938 they were married.Mrs. Kracko's parents and her brothers and sisters (there were eight children) also went to Haolland at his time.

Mr. Kracko bought a shirt factory in Bolivia.
after the factory being robbed and living through 14 revolutions they landed in Texas in 1953.

April 1956 moved to New York, furnished apartment on 172nd Street
They subsequently moved to a fourth-floor walk-up apartment on Nagel Avenue. Later, in 1973 they moved to Fort Washington Avenue and 187th Street where Mrs. Kracko still lives.
Soon after her arrival in New York, Mrs. Kracko found a job at the United Restitution Office (URO).
