SCHONFELD Sidney, 87, passed away quietly on September 15. He was the beloved husband of Hildegard, proud and loving father of Gary and Elisabeth, Victoria and Victor, beloved grandfather of Jared, Remi, Zachary, Matthew and Sam. Sidney was devoted to Hildegard, who pre-deceased him by 10 years. He missed her every day. He came to America from Nazi Germany at the age of 12 and with determination and hard work built a fulfilling career and life. He never forgot the importance of family and charity and the miracle of Israel. He proudly supported local Jewish charities in every way possible and was very proud of his "good name" in the community. Sid was a kind gentle man who greeted everyone with a warm smile and kind word. He was beloved by so many people whose lives he touched, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
