(obit) Dr. Nathan Turner, 55, of Melville, Family Physician for 25 years, died of lung cancer on Sunday in Central General Hospital in Plainview.
Dr. Turner was born in Poland, immigrated to the United States as an infant, and was raised in Brooklyn.
He attended New York University and the University of Geneva Medical School.
Dr. Turner was partner with Dr. Jacob Hand in Plainview and was associated with Central General Hospital. He was a member of the Nassau County Medical Society.
Dr. Turner is survived by his wife, Susan; a son, Brian, of Melville; and two daughters, Sheri Turner of Washington, D.C., and Cindi Dorfman of Queens.
Services were to be held at 10 a.m. today in Gutterman's Funeral Home on Jericho Turnpike in woodbury; burial in New Monrtefiore cemetery in Farmingdale.
